Stolen Boat With Immigrants Washes Ashore on Miami Beach

It was at about 8am that a boat with what one witness says contained 4 people came ashore near 56 Street and Collins.

An eye witness claims 4 people jumped out of the boat and ran towards Collins Avenue. The boat has a screwdriver jammed in its ignition and the side of the boat reads, “Lucille’s Bad To The Bone BBQ.”

Although there are Lucille’s Bad To The Bone Barbecue restaurants in Florida, the boat was reported stolen from Bimini, Bahamas.

More on the story as it develops.

The Forge Wine Bar in Miami Beach

Anyone local knows that the Forge is much more than just a wine bar. In fact, it’s regarded as one of the finest restaurants in all of Miami.

The incredible menu, prepared by Chef Dewey, is just one of the many unique offerings you’ll only find at The Forge.

Renowned for for having one of the most extensive wine menus in all of Florida, The Forge has made wine tasting easier than ever with their automatic wine dispensers located along the bar.

$15 gets you a Forge Wine card with that balance. Sure, $15 won’t get you much when it comes to tasting some of the finest wines in the world, but considering the prices of drinks around Miami Beach, the wine bar at the Forge is a virtual bargain. On top of that, the atmosphere and service can’t be beat.

If you’re looking for over-priced drinks in a loud and crowded club, stay away from this establishment. However, if you want to sample some of the finest wine and cuisine in all of South Florida in a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere, then The Forge is for you.

LA Pandilla – Street Art on South Beach

I came across this street art on South Beach between Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive near (or along) 10th street.

Anyone who has ever been to South Beach knows that there are blocks and blocks of one-way alleys that are currently just dirty walls. Wouldn’t it be great to have all those walls adorned with art like the wall pictured above?

Since seeing this wall, I started to look into La Pandilla a bit more.

As their logo indicates, La Pandilla is a cross between a Panda and an “ardilla” (squirrel in Spanish). Most of their work has to do with the blending of animal bodies and their approach is unique to say the least.

Here are a few more photos courtesy of La-Pandilla.com. It shows the Miami Beach mural in progress.

Ocean Side Plaza – 5555 Collins Avenue

This is a photo of the back of the building at 5555 Collins Avenue. The building, Ocean Side Plaza, was designed by renowned Miami architect, Morris Lapidus. Besides the usual amenities (like the pool and hot tub), Ocean Side Plaza also has a restaurant (Vecinos), beauty salon and newly added indoor racket ball court.

Hofbrau Munchen – The Best Beers on Lincoln Road?

As far as casual places to grab a beer on Lincoln Road, you have very few options. Hofbrau Munchen, on Lincoln and Michigan Avenue, may have the best house beers in the area. Of course, Zeke’s is also a great place to grab a beer on Lincoln Road. However, you won’t find in house brews there and their hours are finicky at best. They usually won’t open until 4pm or later.

The Cheapest Beer in Miami Beach

If they sold it at the Delano Pool Bar, it might run you about $10 a can but a six-pack of Big Flats Beer will only set you back you $2.99 at the Walgreens Liquor Store on Collins Avenue and 67st street.
